Alarms and engine miss fire

To: Marc <factory2@ix.netcom.com>
Hey, Marc-
It's official! It's not a bug, it's a feature!
I pulled the alarm off yesterday, and the stutter is gone! I never would have suspected the little bastard.
I've upped the mains to 182/185 again, and aside from blipping the throttle at idle, the acceleration stumble is gone too.
Now that I can actually feel the power on top, I can finally start tuning for the proper main sizes.
I'll send you the numbers once I get the bugger dialed in.
Thanks again for all your help!
Steve
Persistent missing at
high rpm? Anti-Theft Alarms?
Regardless of main jet selected? All air correction plumbing is properly
connected? - the bike still misses at full throttle / high rpm.
And you have an "alarm" installed???
Disconnect the alarm and retest.
As of October 24, 2001, there have been many reports of alarms causing high rpm
misfiring. Disconnect the alarm and the problem goes away.
It can be present when you install the alarm, may start after a crash or
sometimes, just "occur".
Call the alarm company to discuss that with them!
Cheers -
Marc

The extension of the laboratory for engines of the
Swiss Federal Institute of Technology was completed in about 1935.
Its architect was Rudolf Otto Salvisberg (1882-1940). He had a
successful career in Berlin but returned to Switzerland after the
advent of the Nazis. His architectural style was somewhat similar to
that of Erich Mendelsohn. The staircase of the laboratory is in
normal use but well preserved. Edited to the tunes of Chemical Residue by Herbie Hancock. |

Maybe in next rewrite, he'll fix the ignition timing and dyno chapters... Otherwise great book with great starting ideas. |
