If not, switch it on and recheck display.
If still the power light isn't lit,

2. Is the power cord to the Black Box plugged in to a live outlet?

If plugged in and the outlet does indeed have power and the power light on the Black Box won't light, Call tech support at 800 869-0497 or 415 793-8171

  Reboot computer AND
Restart Dyno Program.
  Check Data communication?
Is 9 pin serial cable connected between Black Box and computer?
Check cable connections on both ends.
Check that cable is not cut or damaged.
Com Port Setup?
After program update / reinstall or computer upgrade, you may need to tell the Program which Com port your Black Box is connected to, again. Later versions of the Software automatically configure at program start.
Enter Test Screen and, with cursor over the Recorded Data area, RH mouse click for menu, click on "View Com Port". A box will appear.
Click on Setup, select "Select Com Port".
If you have the correct com port selected and all is working, you should see data streaming through the box. If you don't see data, select another com port (Try 1 through 4). If you select the wrong port or a port that is being used by another device, no damage will result.
Note: There is also a "Select Com Port" in the EGA Area of the screen. It is for the EGA communications - not the Black Box!
Power Shaft Coupler?
Over a long period of time, the damping coupler between the drive roller and the eddy current brake unit will need to be lubed and tightened.
Occasionally, the setscrews on the coupler collars will loosen and allow the outer sleeve to slide over enough to release one side, allowing free rotation without transferring power. Easy to see - the roller rotates and the brake doesn't.
Remove the cover over the coupler, clean and lube with EP grease and reinstall outer sleeve. Use silicone sealant to secure the setscrews (loctite may be too strong for the setscrews).
