More Power.... and....  that SWEET Intake roar!

The power developed by intake tract resonance optimization and the sharp, crisp sound of 4 properly tuned intake ports - Goosebumps!  :-)
Without major retuning unless we specifically said that we retuned in the model specific area....... All of the dyno charts are power measured under FULL LOAD (is in real world, upper gears) and NOTHING is published under unrealistic 8 second, 4th gear roll-on sweep tests.

Superflare Billet Velocity Stacks

Marc Salvisberg of Factory Pro designed and tested. patented clipless design.

09 01 06
stock bike with a comp pipe
EC997 dyno T
esting shows a HEALTHY 8+ True HP gain at 9000 rpm when measured under a real load on a stock engine. We did not change fuel injection tuning.

09 21 06
1397cc
modified engine with comp pipe and BMC Race filter
In back to back testing with stock and "other brand v stack" and the new Factory Pro
patented S89 stacks on a common package 1397cc engine showed 3-4 True HP improvement in the upper midrange and 1-2 at full throttle at the lower rpms over both the stock and the "other brand stack".
Stock and "other brand stack" were, essentially, identical in power on this 1397 engine, which is somewhat disturbing..........

After we dropped the S89 Superflare stacks onto the 1397 engine, it richened up the mixture at high rpm and we got even more power when we remapped the bike to Best Power (not! remapped to af ratio!)

Drop-in them in an hour. Ride the bike.

Note: All testing done under fully loaded dyno conditions on EC997 Dyne systems to get proper HP production. Testing done on dealership level dynos "inertia" loading may be greater or lesser amounts of power.
What works best under "inertia" dyno load is rarely what works best in the real world - That's why we never use common dealership level dynos for testing or feedback.

Hayabusa with Yoshimura exhaust system and stock velocity stacks 139.9 True HP
(estimated 161 dynojet hp)
Factory Pro Superflare Stacks added 143.9 True HP
(estimated 165 dynojet hp)

+4 True hp on top
+4 to +8 in midrange
 Less than an hour
no remapping
under $250.
And the question of the year!

"Are they "short" or are they "long"?
"Are they "right" or are they "wrong"?
My lips are sealed - I cannot tell -
But my, oh my, they work so well.

Funny....I had issues before putting the stacks on...1st was I was geared too high and second,
my dyno guy James at 2 Boys Racing said my TRE wasn't working.. no big deal.... Bike wasn't doing too great...
the other day....zx12 pulled me...so....I geared down closer to stock, took off the TRE, put on new tires and
installed the stacks....Damn.....she's running smooth as silk, powerband right where I like it and my
buddy with the zx14, not the zx12....had a hard time pulling me....which before, he left me behind.....
he noticed a BIG difference....so did they work?.....I do believe so.. the combination seems
right.....throttle's a lot better - that's for sure. I'm happy with the setup I have worked out
currently.. When James dynos it i'll let you know....he's one of your Factory Pro dyno
approved shops...

What is it?
There's something that makes the susceptible ones of us to instinctually react to the sound of an engine at high rpm, running as perfectly as possible - on each and every cylinder -
It's that sound like Roger described as - "The sound of "rippin' sheets" going down a straight."

Something that makes a "not just good, but perfectly tuned" race engine sound that causes the hair on the back of you arms rise up.......

First step it getting the intake tract lengths correct....... Then, intake cam set perfectly for that engine, then a matching exhaust for the cam settings, getting the ignition timing perfect at every rpm, eliminating ignition scatter, then, finally, providing the correct amount of fuel on each cylinder, at each rpm point...

That eliminates, except by luck, "Tuning to an A/F Ratio" as the final answer to tuning...
Tune to BEST POWER.
True HP

It's not that easy...... 98% of engines at a racetrack won't even do that.
Kudos to the tuners who can consistently pull that off!
The are the stars in the industry.

The extension of the laboratory for engines of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology was completed in about 1935. Its architect was Rudolf Otto Salvisberg (1882-1940). He had a successful career in Berlin but returned to Switzerland after the advent of the Nazis. His architectural style was somewhat similar to that of Erich Mendelsohn. The staircase of the laboratory is in normal use but well preserved.
